About

Our Mission is to (1) raise public awareness about racial and socioeconomic gaps in education and living matters in the United States, and (2) foster research and discussion to identify the interconnectedness between such gaps.

SeeTheGaps is an interactive online commentary and visualized multi-disciplinary resource platform focused on gaps in education and other class and race-based societal inequalities. We are a place where users can access the facts, explore research topics, contribute to the dialogue, and see how the pieces fit together.

Through SeeTheGaps you can easily search and find summaries of topics and related primary resources and data on gaps in two main and overlapping areas: (1) basic LIVING MATTERS (prenatal, early childhood, wealth, neighborhood, health, socioeconomic status, and occupation); and (2) EDUCATION (pre-K, elementary, middle school, high school, higher education, professional education, and graduate education).

We take a multi-disciplinary, multi-view approach to the recognition, causes and possible solutions to opportunity, access, and achievement gaps in this country. We recognize both the specialized experts who study, research, write, report and provide daily services to understand, intervene, and combat the gaps, as well as the complicated, intertwined nature of the problems.
